CHEERLEADERS
Scotlandville Sports Academy host a cheerleading squad, consisting of girls ranging from the age of 6 to 11, for each of the Scotlandville Sports Academy Hornets Tackle Football and Basketball teams. Practices start a week following the Scotlandville Sports Academy Cheerleader Camp. Practices are held daily from 6:00 p.m. –7:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday at the Scotlandville - 72nd Street BREC Park located in the local neighborhood. Once a month, the Southern University A&M College Athletics Department allows their cheerleading squad and staff to teach the youth the fundamentals and skills of cheerleading, which includes cheers, chants, dance drills, stunts & tumbling, and pyramids. Each of the Scotlandville Sports Academy Hornets Cheerleading Squads will cheer on Saturday mornings & Sunday evenings during the football and basketball seasons.
